Calme

Calme is a modern blue-on-white design of flowering Japanese Quince watercoloured flowers coordinated with a sophisticated textured blue-on-white chevron print.   Together the two prints combine to make a most beautiful bedding design which speaks of ephemeral beauty.  

Japanese Quince (Chaenomeles japonica) start to bloom during the cold winter months, even in snow.  Their delicate flowers stand out on the naked branches, blooming before the leaves unfold, and offer a respite against the gloom of winter. 
In Art, the Japanese Quince flowers have significant cultural meaning and personify elegance and resilience.

The Calme design of flowering branches  shows great depth as there are branches in both the foreground and the background and the flowers themselves are depicted in multiple stages, from bud to full bloom.
