One may recall that these are stylized Honesty flower seed pods. In the Autumn, the seed pods shed their outer covering and expose an opaque white-clear shell.
Used in Artworks, Honesty flower seed pods are emblematic of love and honesty.

The front of the duvet cover and shams have the seed pods in white, on the pink ground, the reverse side has the seed pods in rose pink on a white ground.
